Teams Should Make History Clear

Teams entering for Bed Race are advised to make clear the history of their team. This is in case there is a lottery to decide on the final 90 teams to take place in the event. The organisers give weighting in such a lottery to junior teams and those teams who have entered many times before.

The best bet would be to keep the name the same and to indicate on the entry forms that at least some of the runners have run in previous races. It is also useful to mention if the ‘Bed’ is the entry of a formal organisation such as a school, sports teams, scouts, guides or faith group. Alternatively, it would be useful if on the entry form it could be indicated if the Bed belongs to individuals who enter each year. The Bed name along with all its application credits belong to the sponsoring organisation or individual as defined above.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Runners who have taken part in the Bed Race in the past and who now enter a Bed in their own right should NOT attempt to make reference to any other Bed or team they have been associated to gain application credits. To repeat a Bed belongs only to an organisation or an individual.
